Why is Verto introducing a new card product?
At Verto, we are constantly working to improve our infrastructure and provide your business with the most reliable payment tools possible. We are introducing our new Verto Visa Debit Card to replace our previous card offering, moving away from the traditional prepaid model to give you a significantly upgraded spending experience.
What is the main difference between the new card and the old card?
The most important upgrade is the card type: our new card is a true Debit Card, whereas our previous product functioned as a Prepaid Card.
While both allow you to spend your corporate funds securely online, switching to a debit card infrastructure unlocks massive benefits for everyday business operations.
What are the key features and benefits of the new card product?
Based on our updated infrastructure, the new card introduces several major upgrades designed specifically to handle complex global business expenses:
True Multi-Currency Funding: You can now fund transactions directly from 11 different currency wallets, covering G10 currencies plus NGN. This saves you money on unnecessary FX conversion fees.
UK Network Identity: The new card features a UK-issued Bank Identification Number (BIN).
Unrivaled Global Merchant Acceptance: Because this is a true corporate deferred debit card rather than a prepaid card, it successfully bypasses standard prepaid card blocks. It is guaranteed to work seamlessly with primary digital advertising, cloud, and AI platforms like Google, Meta, AWS, and OpenAI.
Business Travel Ready: The card is specifically optimized to support international business travel expenses—handling complex cross-border bookings that standard debit or prepaid cards typically fail to process.
Ultimate Spending Control: Administrators can comprehensively manage corporate funds from a single platform by setting custom spending limits and instantly blocking or freezing specific cards.
Instant Issuance: Need to equip your team quickly? You can create multiple unique virtual cards in the names of your employees instantly through the dashboard.
Do I need to do anything to transition to the new card?
Your existing Verto Mastercard will continue to work normally for a 30-day grace period starting from 6th July 2026. This gives you plenty of time to transition your recurring payments over to your new card. After this 30-day window closes, your old Mastercard will be permanently deactivated. You will still be able to view these on your account but the status will show as deactivated.
How do I get my new Visa card?
You can generate your new Visa card on the Verto app and web platform. If you're an existing active customer we may have automatically issued you a new VISA card, please check your email correspondence or reach out to Verto support to find out. You can find it waiting for you right now by logging into your Verto dashboard and navigating to the Cards tab.
Physical cards will be available for you later this year. Join the list on the ‘Cards’ tab on your account to register your interest.
You will need the Verto mobile app to use your card to verify card transactions. You can download the app on Google Play store here and on the Apple App store here.
Will my Mastercard and VISA card both work at the same time?
Yes. To ensure there is zero disruption to your business spending, both your old Mastercard and your new Visa card will remain fully active for the next 30 days. After this 30-day period concludes, your Mastercard will be deactivated, and only your new Visa card will work.
What do I need to do during the 30-day transition?
Because all future card creations will exclusively be on the new Visa network, you should use this 30-day window to update your billing information on any platforms where your old Mastercard is saved.
We highly recommend updating your card details as soon as possible for:
SaaS and software subscriptions (e.g., AWS, Slack, HubSpot)
Active digital advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Meta)
Any recurring vendor or supplier payments
⚠️ Important: Once the 30 days are up, only your new Visa debit card will remain active. Any recurring payments still tied to your old Mastercard will be declined after this date.
