How do I freeze or cancel a card?

Discovering unauthorized transactions on your card can be stressful. If you cannot find your card, you can secure it immediately by either freezing it temporarily or deleting it permanently in your account. In order to do this:

  1. Log in to your Verto account.

  2. Go to the Cards section on the main side menu.

  3. Click on the specific card you want to secure.

From there, you have two options depending on your situation:

  • Option 1: Freeze your card (Temporary) If you’ve just misplaced your card and think you might find it, select Freeze Card. This instantly pauses all spending. If you want to use it again, you can unfreeze it just as easily and transact again.

  • Option 2: Terminate your card (Permanent) If your card is definitely lost, stolen, or compromised, go to the card's Settings and choose Terminate. This permanently deactivates the card so it can never be used again, and you can instantly order a new virtual card to replace it.

💡 Tip: Freeze a card if you suspect unauthorised access.

⚠️ Warning: Terminating a card is permanent. Any active subscriptions linked to the card number will fail on the next billing date.
