You can control how your Verto card works in Google Wallet separately from the card itself. This means you can pause or remove Google Pay without affecting your card's normal online payments.
You'll find these controls in the Mobile Wallet section of your card's settings, on both the Verto web platform and the Verto mobile app (Android and iPhone).
Find your Mobile Wallet settings
On the Verto mobile app:
Log in to the Verto app.
Go to Cards and select the card you want to manage.
Open the card's Settings and find the Mobile Wallet section.
On the Verto web platform:
Log in to your Verto account.
Go to the Cards section on the main side menu.
Click on the card, open its Settings and find the Mobile Wallet section.
Check your Google Wallet status
Each card shows a Google Wallet status:
Status | What it means |
š¢ Live | The card is in Google Wallet on at least one device and can be used with Google Pay. |
š” Frozen | The card is in Google Wallet but Google Pay payments are paused. |
āŖ Inactive | The card hasn't been added to Google Wallet, or it has been removed. |
Option 1: Freeze in Google Wallet (temporary)
Use the Freeze toggle to pause Google Pay payments on this card. This applies to every device the card has been added to.
Your card stays in Google Wallet, so you won't need to add it again.
Your card keeps working as normal for online payments made with your card details.
To start using Google Pay again, simply switch the toggle off to unfreeze.
When frozen, you'll see "Frozen on Google Wallet" when you view the card in the app.
Option 2: Remove from all devices (permanent)
Select Remove from all devices and confirm. This takes your card out of Google Wallet on every device it was added to.
Your card keeps working as normal for online payments made with your card details.
If you want to use Google Pay with this card again later, you'll need to add it to Google Wallet again.
š” Tip: Lost your phone? Remove your card from all devices. Your card itself keeps working, so you can carry on paying online while you sort out a new phone. |
How this differs from freezing your card
Freezing your whole card (using Freeze Card on the card itself) stops all payments, including Google Pay. Freezing or removing it in Google Wallet only affects Google Pay. For more on freezing your whole card, see How do I freeze or cancel a card?
ā ļø Warning: If you terminate your card, it will also stop working in Google Wallet. Any new card you order will need to be added to Google Wallet separately. |
