Your KES local account allows you to receive and send Kenyan Shillings locally in Kenya.
With your KES local account bank details, you can receive from anyone — yourselves, your clients, or your suppliers. For those paying into the account, it will be the same as making any other domestic bank transfer in Kenya.
There is no need to create a top-up; we will credit the funds to your KES wallet as soon as we receive them. You can then use these funds to transfer as you normally would through the Verto platform.
What are the settlement details?
Your KES local account is issued via Choice MFB (Choice Microfinance Bank).
You will be issued a unique set of details for your business.
Account Name: The account is held in the name of the business registered on the Verto platform, in the format: Verto - Your Business Name) e.g. Verto -Good Shop Ltd
Account Number: Unique to your account/wallet.
Bank Name: Choice MFB (select from dropdown for Pesalink)
SWIFT Code/BIC: CHFIKENXXXX (for RTGS Payments)
M-Pesa Paybill No: 444174
Airtel ID: 444174

What payment methods are supported?
Your KES local account supports three local payment methods:
RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) — for high-value payments settled in real time via the Central Bank of Kenya.
PesaLink — for interbank transfers between banks in Kenya (Instant up to 1m KES)
M-Pesa/Airtel via Paybill — for mobile money payments via Safaricom's/Airtels Mobile Money systems.
Who can pay into these accounts?
Anyone with a local bank account or M-Pesa account in Kenya.
Specific risk restrictions may apply to your account across all payment methods (i.e ability to recieve from individuals vs other buisness).
What name is the account in?
The account is held in the name of the business registered on the Verto platform, in the format: Verto - Your Business Name. When sending funds to your KES local account, the sender should the correct name to ensure funds are allocated.
Can I receive USD, GBP or EUR locally in Kenya?
Yes. In addition to KES, Verto also offers local USD, GBP, and EUR accounts in Kenya, all of which support RTGS payments.
These are particularly useful for Kenyan-based clients who need to move foreign currency domestically, and can be enabled on a case-by-case basis.
Contact customer service to enable these for clients outside of Kenya (for those in Kenya this is enabled by default).
