Google Pay FAQs

Fees, limits, lost phones, declined payments, iPhone

Are there any extra fees for using Google Pay? No. Paying with Google Pay costs the same as paying with your Verto card directly. See Are there fees for Verto cards?

Which balance do Google Pay payments come from? The same as your card: payments come straight from your Verto balances. See How do I fund my card transactions?

Do my card's spending limits still apply? Yes. Any spending limits and controls set on your card also apply when you pay with Google Pay.

Where can I see my Google Pay transactions? They appear in your card's transaction history, just like any other card payment. See How do I view transactions made with my card?

Can I add a team member's card to my Google Wallet? No. You can only add cards where you are the cardholder. Each team member needs to add their own card to their own Google Wallet.

Can I add my card to more than one device? Yes. You can add the same Verto card to Google Wallet on several Android devices. Freezing or removing your card in Google Wallet from the Verto app applies to all of them at once.

I use an iPhone. Can I use Google Pay? Paying in store with Google Pay requires an Android phone. We're working on bringing your Verto card to Apple Pay and will let you know when it's available.

I lost my phone. What should I do? Go to your card's Mobile Wallet settings on the Verto web platform and select Remove from all devices. Your card will keep working online. If you think your card details have also been compromised, see What do I do if my card is lost or compromised?

My Google Pay payment was declined. Why? Check that:

  • Your card and its Google Wallet status aren't frozen (see How do I freeze or remove my card from Google Wallet?).

  • You have enough money in the matching Verto balance.

  • The payment is within your card's spending limits.

  • NFC is switched on and your phone is unlocked when you pay in store.

Tap to pay in stores also depends on Google Pay being available in your country and at the merchant. If you're still having trouble, contact our support team.

How do refunds work? Refunds for Google Pay payments are returned in the same way as any other card refund.

Can I dispute a Google Pay transaction? Yes, in the same way as any card transaction. See How do I dispute a card transaction?
