What is Google Pay and can I use it with my Verto card?

Google Pay

Google Pay lets you pay with your Verto card using your Android phone instead of entering your card details. Once you add your Verto card to Google Wallet, you can pay in store, online and in apps, anywhere Google Pay is accepted.

What you can do with Google Pay

  • Pay in store with your phone. Hold your Android phone near any contactless card machine to pay. You no longer need to rely on online-only spending.

  • Check out faster online and in apps. Choose Google Pay at checkout instead of typing in your card number, expiry date and security code.

  • Keep your card details private. Google Pay doesn't share your actual card number with merchants, and you confirm payments using your phone's fingerprint, face unlock or PIN.

Everything else about your card stays the same. Payments still come straight from your Verto balances, and your card's spending limits and controls still apply.

Who can use Google Pay?

Google Pay is available to all Verto customers with an active Verto card. You'll need:

  • An active Verto card in your name. You can only add cards that you are the cardholder of.

  • An Android phone with the Google Wallet app installed. You can download it from the Google Play Store or it may be pre-installed on your device.

  • A screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint or face unlock) set up on your phone. Google Wallet requires this to keep your payments secure.

  • For paying in store, a phone with NFC (contactless) turned on. Most modern Android phones support this.

💡 Tip: You can add the same Verto card to Google Wallet on more than one Android device.
