To safely verify the identity of business directors and owners, Verto requires a valid Proof of Residential Address. All standard documents must be clear, unedited, and uploaded as an original digital PDF downloaded directly from your provider.
Please note: Running documents through editing software or using "Print to PDF" tools will cause our automated security systems to reject your file.
Standard Globally Accepted Documents
Bank Statements: Issued by a regulated financial institution within the last 3 months.
Utility Bills: Bills for gas, electricity, water, or landline internet issued within the last 3 months. (Mobile phone bills are not accepted globally, except in South Africa).
Tax Correspondence: Official letters issued by your national tax authority (such as HMRC in the UK or SARS in South Africa) dated within the last 12 months.
Government/Local Council Letters: Current local government tenancy agreements, council tax demand letters, or housing statements issued within the last 12 months.
Secondary Government Photo ID: National identity cards displaying your residential address can be accepted, provided you have not already submitted this exact document as your primary Proof of Identity.
Regional Allowances & Alternative Pathways
Kenya If you are a resident of Kenya and traditional utility bills are unavailable, we can accept a combination of the following two documents:
A Kenyan Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC).
Proof of a local bank account (such as a recent statement or confirmation letter from a Kenyan bank). Alternatively, we accept a formal address verification letter printed on official letterhead, signed, stamped, and dated by a licensed advocate or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
West & Central Africa (XOF / XAF Zones) In African jurisdictions operating under the OHADA framework, we accept:
A formal Certificate of Residence (Certificat de résidence) issued by your local municipality or police department within the last 6 months.
A residential verification letter notarized or certified by a chartered accountant or company lawyer.
South Africa
Unlike our standard global restrictions, a valid mobile or residential phone bill issued within the last 3 months is fully acceptable for South African residents.
