How do I receive payments to my KES local account?

A local KES account allows you to receive Kenyan Shilling payments locally in Kenya. Follow these steps to receive payments using your KES account.

Locate your account details

To locate your KES account details, select your KES wallet and visit the local account details section. If you don't see these please contact support@vertofx.com for help to get a new account issued.

Provide your account details

Once your KES account is open, you will need to provide your account details to the person or entity sending you payments. The details required depend on how the sender is paying.

For RTGS payments (KES/GBP/EUR/USD), share the following:

  • Account Name: Verto - Your Business Name

  • Account Number

  • Bank Name: Choice Microfinance Bank

  • SWIFT/BIC: CHFIKENXXXX

  • Bank Address: Floor 1, Siron Place, Nairobi, Kenya

Based on the sender's bank, either the SWIFT/BIC code or the bank name (often selected from a dropdown) may be required. It's best to share both with the sender.

Please note international payments are not possible to these details - only domestic Kenya payments

For PesaLink payments, share the following:

  • Account Name: Verto - Your Business Name

  • Account Number

  • Bank Name: Choice MFB (select from dropdown)

For M-Pesa (Paybill) payments, share the following:

  • Paybill Number: 444174

  • Account Number: Your unique account number

For Airtel Money payments, share the following:

  • Airtel ID: 444174

  • Account Number: Your unique account number

Note: Please make sure you share the correct details with the sender. Payments sent to the wrong account may be irreversible.

Receive payments

Once you have provided your account details, the sender can initiate the transfer.

Funds will be credited to your KES Verto wallet automatically once received.

RTGS payments are typically received within 5 hours on Kenyan working days; M-Pesa, Pesalink & Airtel Money payments are usually credited within minutes.
