How do I receive payments to my TZS local account?

A local TZS account allows you to receive Tanzanian Shilling payments locally in Tanzania. Follow these steps to receive payments using your TZS account.

Locate your account details

To locate your TZS account details, select your TZS wallet and visit the local account details section. If you don't see these, please contact support@vertofx.com for help.

Your account will have been set up with either CRDB Bank Plc or Ecobank Tanzania — this is assigned automatically. Simply use whichever account details are shown in your wallet.

Provide your account details

The details you need to share depend on how the sender is paying.

For TISS (RTGS) payments (above TZS 20 million), share the following:

  • Account Name: As shown in your wallet

  • Account Number: As shown in your wallet

  • Bank Name: As shown in your wallet

  • SWIFT Code: As shown in your wallet

  • Bank Address: As shown in your wallet

For EFT payments (up to TZS 20 million), share the following:

  • Account Name: As shown in your wallet

  • Account Number: As shown in your wallet

  • Bank Name: As shown in your wallet

For TIPS payments from Mobile Money (up to TZS 20 million, including mobile money), ask the sender to:

  1. Select TIPS as the payment method

  2. Select the bank as the provider.

  3. Enter account number

Note: CRDB account numbers may contain both letters and numbers — always share your account number exactly as it appears in your wallet. Payments sent to the wrong account may be irreversible.
